circumcision

Are you considering circumcision but worried about pain, bleeding, or a long recovery? Traditional methods can be daunting. Today, a modern, superior alternative is available: the ZSR Circumcision Stapler.

At Inova Hospital in Kathmandu, we specialize in this advanced, minimally invasive procedure. Performed by our experienced urological surgeons, ZSR circumcision is designed for maximum patient comfort, safety, and a rapid return to your daily life.

What is ZSR Stapler Circumcision?

The ZSR (Zhongshan Ring) circumcision technique is a revolutionary procedure that uses a disposable stapler device. It removes the foreskin and simultaneously seals the wound with medical staples, all in one precise action. This eliminates the need for a scalpel and sutures, which are the primary sources of pain and extended healing in conventional surgery.

Why Choose ZSR Circumcision Over Traditional Methods?

Choosing ZSR at Inova Hospital offers significant advantages for children and adults:

  • Minimally Invasive: No scalpel cuts or sutures needed.

  • Virtually Painless: The procedure is quick and causes minimal discomfort during and after.

  • Bloodless Surgery: The stapler seals blood vessels as it works, drastically reducing bleeding.

  • Short Procedure Time: The entire surgery takes only 5-10 minutes.

  • Faster Recovery: Healing is quicker, allowing most patients to return to school or work within 2-3 days.

  • Excellent Cosmetic Result: The staples provide a clean, symmetrical appearance and fall off naturally after healing.

  • Lower Risk of Infection: The closed wound is less exposed to contaminants.

Tips & Info

Inova Tips to avoid phymosis

Maintain Proper Hygiene, Avoid Forcible Retraction in Children, Practice Gentle Stretching, Treat Infections Promptly, Use Lubrication During Sexual Activity, Avoid Irritants, Stay Hydrated & Moisturize, Seek Medical Advice for Persistent Cases.

What is phimosis, and is it normal?

Phimosis is a condition where the foreskin is too tight to retract over the head of the penis (glans). It is normal in infants and young boys, as the foreskin usually separates naturally over time (often by age 5–7). However, if it persists into adolescence or adulthood and causes pain, swelling, or infections, medical evaluation may be needed.

How can I treat mild phimosis at home?

For mild cases, doctors may recommend: Gentle stretching exercises (pulling the foreskin back slightly during baths). Topical steroid creams (to reduce inflammation and loosen skin). Proper hygiene (cleaning with warm water, avoiding harsh soaps). Never force retraction, as this can cause tears or scarring. If symptoms worsen, consult a urologist.

When does phimosis require medical treatment?

Seek medical help if you experience: ✔ Pain during urination or erection ✔ Recurrent infections (balanitis) ✔ Inability to retract foreskin by late adolescence ✔ Swelling, redness, or foul discharge A urologist may suggest steroid therapy, stretching techniques, or circumcision in severe cases.

Is ZSR circumcision really painless?

While no medical procedure is entirely without sensation, ZSR circumcision is significantly less painful than traditional methods. Any minor discomfort is easily managed.

What is the recovery time?

Most patients resume normal, non-strenuous activities within 2-3 days. Full healing typically occurs within 2-3 weeks.

Are there any side effects?

When performed by an experienced surgeon, the risk of side effects is very low. Potential risks, like any surgery, include minor swelling or bleeding, but these are rare with the ZSR technique.

What is the right age for the procedure?

The ZSR technique is safe and effective for both children and adults. Our doctor can advise on the best timing during your consultation.
